Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 18, 2026
This policy is a working draft and will be reviewed by legal counsel before paid subscriptions launch.
Who we are
StatusGreen ('we', 'us') keeps your Slack presence active on a schedule you choose. The product is deliberately narrow in what it touches, and this policy reflects that: we collect only what the service needs to run, and nothing in it is designed to surprise you.
Information we collect
Account information
Your email address, used to sign you in and to contact you about your account. If you sign in with Google, we also receive the name associated with your Google account.
Slack connection data
Your workspace's name, domain, and icon, read once when you connect, so we can display your workspaces to you. Your Slack session credentials are stored encrypted with AES-256 envelope encryption, with keys bound to your account, and are decrypted only in memory for the moment they're needed to hold your presence. They never appear in our logs.
Schedule and preferences
The days, hours, timezone, lunch break, and pause settings you configure — stored so the service knows when to hold your presence.
Presence history
A log of connection events (connected, disconnected, paused) that powers your Activity page, so you can verify StatusGreen ran on schedule.
Billing information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your card details; we keep only your subscription status and a reference to your Stripe customer record. Stripe handles payment data under its own privacy policy.
Support communications
If you email us or use the contact form, we keep that correspondence so we can help you.
Technical data
Our infrastructure providers keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses and request timestamps) needed to operate and secure the service.
What we never collect
We do not read, collect, or store the contents of your Slack messages, direct messages, files, or channels — the service has no feature that touches them. The browser extension reads your Slack session once, during setup, and does not track your browsing. We use no advertising trackers and no third-party analytics that profile you.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- operate the service — signing you in, connecting workspaces, and holding your presence on your schedule;
- process subscriptions and billing through Stripe;
- send transactional email, such as sign-in links and account notices;
- respond to your support requests;
- keep the service secure and prevent abuse; and
- improve the service based on how it's used in aggregate.
We do not sell your personal information, we do not share it for advertising, and we do not use it to train AI models. Our revenue comes from subscriptions — not from your data.
When data is shared
A small number of trusted infrastructure partners help us run StatusGreen — hosting, database, payment processing, and email delivery. Each receives only what it needs to do its job, processes data solely on our instructions, and is bound by its own privacy and security obligations. No one receives your data for advertising, resale, or any purpose beyond operating the service.
Cookies
We use essential cookies only — the ones that keep you signed in. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
How long we keep your data
Only as long as it takes to serve you. Your Slack session credentials are deleted permanently the moment you disconnect a workspace or delete your account. Your presence history clears automatically on a rolling 90-day basis, and everything else lives only as long as your account does — you can delete your account yourself from account settings, no support email required. The one exception is billing records, which we keep only as long as tax and accounting rules require.
How we protect your data
Session credentials are sealed with AES-256 envelope encryption with per-user keys, decrypted only in memory, and never written to logs, error reports, or analytics. All data moves over TLS — between you and us, and between us and Slack. Access to production systems is restricted. No online service can promise perfect security, but we designed StatusGreen so that the part that matters most — your session — is exposed as little as possible.
Your rights
Wherever you live, you can access, correct, export, or delete your personal information — most of it directly from your account, or by emailing support@statusgreen.app.
If you're in the EU/EEA or UK (GDPR): we process your data to perform our contract with you (operating the service), for our legitimate interests (security and service improvement), and with your consent where required. You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Our servers are in the United States; by using the service you consent to your data being transferred there.
If you're a California resident (CCPA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, and to opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
Your responsibility
It's up to you to decide whether StatusGreen is a fit for your workplace — check your employer's policies and any agreements that apply to you before connecting. We are not responsible for employment-related consequences of your use of the service — see our Terms of Service for details.
Children
StatusGreen is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the service evolves, and we'll update the 'Last updated' date when we do. If a change is material, we'll notify you by email or in the service before it takes effect.
